The Alberta King is the family bed
The Wyoming King is for couples who want space. The Alaskan King is for those who want the ultimate. The Alberta King sits between them — genuinely enormous, yet designed to actually fit in a well-proportioned master bedroom.
Young children migrating into bed at 3am no longer mean a bad night. At 8×8 feet, there’s a genuine corner for everyone. The Alberta King was built for exactly this.
48″ each — wider than a Queen bed per person. No more negotiating the sheets, elbowing your partner, or waking when they move. The Alberta King ends that conversation permanently.
When the dog, the cat, and the children have all claimed their territory, you need 64 square feet. The Alberta King gives every member of the household a genuine spot.
A home designed around a large master suite deserves a bed that fills it properly. The Alberta King’s 8-foot silhouette commands a large room in a way that a standard King simply cannot.
How the Alberta King compares
The Alberta King splits the difference between Wyoming and Alaskan — substantially larger than any standard bed, but a more practical footprint than the full 9-foot Alaskan King.

8 feet of sleep, built the same way as every other bed we make.
The Alberta King is a non-standard size most furniture retailers have never heard of, let alone built. At Candace & Basil, our Mississauga workshop has been producing oversized custom beds for nearly 40 years. An Alberta King is built on the same solid maple frame, with the same sinuous spring system and 2.5lb premium foam, as our Twin and our Alaskan King. The only difference is the dimensions.
- Solid maple hardwood frame — never particleboard or engineered wood
- Sinuous non-sag springs for even support across the full 96″ width
- 2.5 lb density foam — the benchmark for premium upholstery
- 500+ fabrics: velvet, linen, bouclé, leather, performance
- Headboard heights: 42″, 52″, 62″, or 72″
- Optional hydraulic lift storage base
- Collapsible frame option for tight stairwells (select models)
- Progress photos sent throughout the entire build
Considering a different oversized size? We build them all.
Wyoming King (84″×84″) · Texas King (80″×98″) · Florida King (108″×80″) · Alaskan King (108″×108″). Every size on the same solid maple frame.
