Twin vs Twin XL — which one do you need?

The Twin and Twin XL share the same 38″ width. The only difference is 5 extra inches of length — which matters a lot for taller children and teenagers.

At Candace & Basil, there’s no such thing as a “children’s grade” bed. Every Twin we build uses the same solid maple hardwood frame, the same sinuous spring system, and the same 2.5lb density foam as our King and Alaskan King beds. The only difference is the size.

What is the difference between a Twin and a Twin XL?

Both sizes are 38 inches wide. The Twin is 75 inches long, while the Twin XL is 80 inches long — 5 inches more. The Twin suits children up to around 5′9″. The Twin XL is better for taller teenagers and young adults who don’t want to outgrow their bed. Both sizes are available in all our frames.

Are your Twin beds the same quality as your King beds?

Yes — identical construction. Every bed we build, regardless of size, uses the same solid maple hardwood frame, sinuous non-sag springs, and 2.5 lb density foam. There is no “children’s grade” at Candace & Basil. A Twin built here will outlast most King beds sold elsewhere.

Can I choose the fabric and headboard height for a Twin?

Yes, fully. Every frame is available in 500+ fabric options and four headboard heights (42″, 52″, 62″, or 72″). A 72″ headboard on a Twin bed in a children’s room creates a dramatic, design-forward look that grows with the child.

Do your Twin beds come with a storage base?

Most frames are available with an optional hydraulic lift storage base — an excellent choice for children’s rooms and smaller spaces where under-bed storage is valuable. Mention it when you reach out for a quote.

How long does it take to build and deliver?

Our standard lead time is 8–12 weeks from order confirmation to White Glove Delivery. We send progress photos throughout the build. Rush timelines may be available — contact us to discuss.

What mattress fits a Candace & Basil Twin bed?

Any standard Twin mattress (38″×75″) will fit our Twin frames. For Twin XL frames, use any standard Twin XL mattress (38″×80″). Both are widely available from all major mattress retailers.

Do you offer financing on Twin beds?
