Custom Niddah Beds for Luxury Homes
A Niddah bed can be practical, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed at the same time. At Candace & Basil, we create custom Niddah bed systems for clients who want the flexibility of two separate beds without giving up the look and feel of a luxury upholstered bed.
Each bed is built in-house and made to order, allowing us to design the frame, headboard, hardware, upholstery, proportions, and movement method around your bedroom. Instead of choosing from a standard catalogue or modifying a mass-market bed frame, you can create a solution that fits your space, your routine, and your design preferences.
Whether you need two Twin XL beds that join together as a split king, a shared headboard, separate upholstered beds, concealed connectors, storage bases, or a more tailored layout, we can build the bed around the way you actually use it.
A Better Approach to Niddah Bed Design
Many Niddah bed setups rely on basic metal frames, exposed hardware, or standard split king bases that are not designed to look like finished bedroom furniture. They may function, but they often feel temporary, generic, or disconnected from the rest of the room.
Our approach is different. We treat each Niddah bed as a custom furniture piece first. The goal is to create a bed that looks polished when the two sides are together and remains easy to separate when needed.
Your bed can include a hardwood frame, premium upholstery, refined headboard details, hidden connection hardware, floor-protective glides, custom leg placement, and precise mattress alignment. The result is a high-end Niddah bed that feels intentional, substantial, and built for your home.
Why Twin XL Beds Are Common for Niddah Setups
Many clients choose two Twin XL mattresses because, when placed side by side, they create the overall footprint of a standard king bed. This allows the bed to feel spacious and balanced when joined, while still giving each side its own independent base and mattress.
Because every couple's preferences and religious guidance may differ, we recommend confirming your final layout with your rabbi or halachic advisor before production. Once you know the setup you prefer, we can build the bed to match those specifications.
Niddah Bed Configuration Options
Because our beds are made to order, there is no single required layout. We can build your Niddah bed in several ways depending on your room, flooring, headboard style, and how much effort you want involved when separating the beds.
Wall-Mounted Headboard with Two Movable Twin XL Bases
This is one of the cleanest and most practical layouts for a custom Niddah bed.
The upholstered headboard is mounted to the wall, while the two Twin XL bed bases remain separate and movable. When the beds are pushed together, they create the look of a luxury split king bed. When separation is needed, each base can move independently.
For a tighter connection, we can add concealed alligator brackets beneath the bases. The brackets rotate out when the beds are joined and tuck away underneath when they are not being used. Floor-protective pads or glides can also be added to the legs to help protect hardwood, tile, or other flooring.
This layout works well for clients who want the beds to remain visually centred on the headboard, want easier movement, and prefer a clean designer look with minimal visible hardware.
One Attached Frame with One Movable Frame
If wall mounting is not possible, we can build the headboard so that one bed frame attaches directly to it while the second bed frame remains movable.
This reduces the amount of work involved because only one bed needs to be moved when separation is needed. One side stays anchored, while the other side can be pulled away.
The main trade-off is visual symmetry. When the beds are separated, they may not both sit perfectly centred under the headboard. For many clients, this is an acceptable compromise because the setup is simpler to use day to day.
This option is especially useful for rooms where the headboard cannot be mounted to the wall, or for clients who prefer convenience over perfect alignment in the separated position.
Dual-Position Mounting System
For clients who want a more precise layout, we can create two mounting positions for the bed frames.
One position is used when the beds are connected. The second position is used when the beds are separated. This allows the beds to remain properly aligned with the headboard in both arrangements.
This option requires a little more involvement when switching positions. Typically, each frame is secured with two bolts, and a drill can make the process simple. The benefit is a cleaner, more intentional look in both the joined and separated layouts.
This is a strong choice for larger bedrooms, custom primary suites, and clients who care about symmetry in both setups.
Two Separate Beds with Matching Headboards
For the clearest separation, we can build two completely independent upholstered beds. Each bed has its own headboard, frame, mattress support, and base.
The two beds can be placed side by side when desired, then separated without relying on one shared headboard. This creates the most straightforward independent setup.
This option works well for clients who want simple movement, clear separation, and matching custom beds that still look coordinated in the same room.
Low-Profile, Storage, or Designer Niddah Bed
A Niddah bed does not need to look bulky or overly functional. We can build the system with a low-profile base, recessed legs, a floating-style look, or a more modern upholstered silhouette.
For smaller bedrooms, condos, or homes where storage matters, we can also create separate storage bases with drawers or lift-up access. Since storage bases are heavier, we carefully plan the movement method, glides, hardware, and structure so the bed remains practical.
This option is ideal for clients who want their Niddah bed to feel like part of a luxury bedroom design, not a workaround.

Built for Your Bedroom, Not Pulled From a Catalogue
The biggest advantage of a custom Niddah bed is that the details can be planned before the bed is built. We can adjust the width, height, depth, headboard thickness, base weight, leg position, mattress fit, bracket placement, and separation method to suit your room.
Those details matter. A small change in leg placement, hardware location, or headboard design can make the bed easier to move, better aligned, and more visually refined.
For clients investing in a luxury bedroom, a Niddah bed should not feel like a standard split frame with a headboard added later. It should feel like a complete custom bed system designed specifically for the home.
